Christina Courtin
Tuesday, June 23, 2009

From an early age, Juilliard-trained violinist Christina Courtin held singing as a secret passion; but when she graduated she decided to run with it. great story on christina courtin and the nonesuch label- thought i'd pass it along!
Am I the only one who finds her voice extremely irritating????
no, you're not the only one. it is completely void of any depth or interest. and we thought nora jones was boring? what the heck is she thinking? there is NO ENERGY, nothing, no color......nada.
it just sounds like someone sitting in their room at an early age, feeling sorry for themself!
my god, i can NOT believe a reputable label such as nonesuch supports her!
Most hideously out-of-tune singing yet!!!!
Remember when singers could actually "sing"?
I liked her. I enjoyed the mysterious quality of her voice. But then, I'm a fan of Nora Jones too.
She caught my ear right away. 'Reminds me of Melody Gardot a bit. I'd like to hear more.
y'all are some HATERS, word to mommy. she's a talented girl.. let her do her thing. i, for one, enjoyed the session.
These comments are obviously from people who haven't seen her perform live. She has a beautiful voice, full of life and passion. I loved this piece!
She is the most amazing talent to come along in years. Christina is a breath of fresh air, with interpretive powers that reach beyond the tradition ho-hum singer songwriter. Congrats Nonesuch. Congrats Christina.
