    The Music of 'Lost'

The ABC series "Lost" wouldn’t be nearly as unsettling without the music of Michael Giacchino. Today: the New Jersey-born composer talks about crafting the show's sound – and about his score for the new "Star Trek" film. Also: Brooklyn based duo Previously On Lost have become sensations for their musical recaps of LOST episodes, turned around in 24 hours. The group plays live and talks about their deal with ABC to write material for the "Lost" web site.

Composer Michael Giacchino is among the hardest working men in show biz. In addition to scoring two hit TV series - "Fringe" and "Lost" (which ends its season tonight) - he also served as the musical director at this year's Oscars and will be providing the scores for "Up," the Pixar cartoon due in theaters later this month, and "Land of the Lost," the Will Ferrell comedy due out next month. He joins us.
