Calypso Rose

Calypso superstar McArtha Lewis, better known as Calypso Rose, composed her first calypso after witnessing a man stealing the glasses off of a woman’s face in Trinidad, warning people from her native country of Tobago not to travel to the country. She later wrote the anthem "Fire in Me Wire", which became a calypso classic, and held the title of Calypso Queen for five years in a row. Calypso Rose joins us live in the studio for a performance and a discussion of her career.
