Crowdsourcing: Tell us about the holiday music you hear in stores
Love it or hate it, Christmas music is everywhere this time of year. We want you to tell us about the holiday songs you're hearing in New York-area stores this season.
This is Soundcheck’s latest experiment in crowdsourcing where we employ you, the listener, in an act of journalism. We’re trying to find out what holiday music is popular in stores this year -- particularly at a time when retailers are nervous about the recession and eager to encourage spending however they can.
Here's what to do. Post the following:
1) the store name
2) the song that you hear
3) the artist (don't know? use the genre or style)
4) when you heard it.
The submissions process ends at 9 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 19.
Post your results in the comment section below and we'll analyze the results on the Dec. 22 edition of Soundcheck with Paco Underhill, the chief executive and president of Envirosell, a market research company, and the author of "Why We Buy: The Science of Shopping."

My wife has asked me to get her Rackmaninov #2 for Xmas, do you think she means The Hungarian Rhapsody #2, or the 2nd Symphony?
She's 50 years old, likes Classical and leans towards new age and R&B.
Thank you.
John.
I was at the Winery at Jones Family Christmas Tree Farms in Shelton, Connecticut, and they were playing a rare and FABULOUS Christmas album by the great Jackie Wilson. In the music bin in their Gift Shop they had the CD for sale. This Jackie Wilson Christmas album is my gift to myself this Christmas!
