    The Return of Squeeze

The British group Squeeze bridged the gap between guitar pop and post-punk during the late 1970s and early '80s. Today, one-half of the Squeeze songwriting team talks about reuniting a Britpop favorite. And: violinist Phillipe Quint recalls a different kind of reunion, one that happened after a fateful ride in a taxi.

Unfreezing Squeeze

Starting in the late 1970s, the British pop band Squeeze had a successful run that yielded hits like "Tempted," "Take Me I'm Yours" and "Pulling Mussels (From the Shell)." At the core of the group was a songwriting duo. One-half of that team, Chris Difford, joins us to talk about recharging the reunited group's batteries for a new live album, "Five Live in America."

Fare Play From Grateful Violinist

Violinist Philippe Quint is building classical music audiences one cab driver at a time. After leaving his $4 million Stradivari violin in a Newark taxi this past spring, he is giving a recital at Carnegie’s Weill Hall later this month and is dedicating it to cab driver Mohamed Khalil. Quint joins us today with a live preview.
