Also: The legend of Burning Spear begins with a chance meeting in a Jamaican field with a young Bob Marley, who sent the future star to Studio One, reggae's equivalent of Motown. Spear embarked on a long and productive career that paralleled the rise of an entire genre. The 63-year-old reggae godfather joins us to share his new album, "Jah Is Real."
Burning Spear will perform Sunday, Aug. 31, at Irving Plaza. The show starts at 10:30 p.m.
