I've been listening to this soundtrack daily for the last week. Great stuff!

Zimmer and Howard's decision to create a texture- and motive-based score for THE DARK KNIGHT was anathema to what super-heroes in the cinema need: an identifiable, physiologically astute full theme that revels around action and develops character.

For many filmmusic fans, this is an abhorrent trend, but one that is sweeping the genre. Even Danny Elfman--composer of the memorable 1989 BATMAN theme--opted for a difficult-to-distinguish motive for his summer blockbuster HELLBOY II. I have to wonder if Hollywood is resting on their laurels or are these composers just protecting their prodigy...

Your facts are wrong. It wasnt Sid Vicious himself being portrayed, it was Gary Oldmans portrayel of Sid Vicious in SId & Nancy that inspired Heath. And The Fantastic Four scores By John Ottman are the single most underrated film scores of recent time. The comments about them be4 were crap. Lets see you score 2 fantastic movies *no pun intended*
