Brazilian bandleader Sergio Mendes introduced bossa nova to American audiences in the 60s. More recently, he became the signature sound of Starbucks. He joins us to talk about his new album, his second in collaboration with producer will.i.am of Black Eyed Peas. The new record, Encanto, features several other guests like pop star Fergie and Latin singer Juanes.
Sergio Mendes performs Sat. Jun. 21 at Carnegie Hall, as part of the JVC Jazz Festival.
