How Green is Your Concert?
Concerts aren't typically what you would consider environmentally friendly. But Festivals like Coachella, Bonnaroo, and the inaugural Rothbury Festival are all are trying to adapt green practices, from solar-powered stages to recycling and biodegradable concession products. Today, we debate the effectiveness of these changes, and ask whether artists practice what they preach. Joining us is Bill Connelly, the Marketing Director for NativeEnergy; and Nicholas Wapshott, a reporter with the New York Sun.

I sure would pay more to save the enviroment. But so much is a lie. Everyone is just trying to get our money.
Why have people go to these shows? Why not have them on Pay-Per-View instead? There are no vehicles involved and would save on carbon emissions.

dropped its bathroom waste off a bridge in chicago and directly hitting a tour boat-full of tourists!

Dar Williams's album is called "The Green World" not "The Green Planet".
Another large impact is people being people. There will be litter, which leaves a bad impact on the local invironment of the event.
I know, this is not related to today's topic, but....
I nearly ran through stop lights so I would get home in time to post this comment. Nicholas Whapshatt's comment that George Bush's policy on AIDS is amazing???
I agree, I think that the money for treatment of HIV/AIDS is much needed and important. But what about the restriction put on recipient countries that abstinence must be enforced over condoms; that is, programs that include condom as a method of HIV/AIDS prevention jeopardize their funding. This is not amazing.
