Choro Ensemble Live

Wednesday, February 27, 2008

Choro is a Brazilian rhythm that started in Rio de Janeiro in the 1930s. It can now be heard every week in New York, courtesy of a Brazilian/Israeli group called Choro Ensemble. They join us for a live performance of old tunes and original compositions.

Thank you for featuring this wonderful group playing and commenting on this most wonderful music. After hearing them on this program a couple of years ago, I went to see them at The Zinc Bar. My friends and I spent a delightful evening, enjoying the musicians' own evident enjoyment as much as the music itself.
