Soundcheck's Best Live Performances
A year ago, Terence Blanchard, the New Orleans-based trumpeter, composer and arranger wrote the score for "When the Levees Broke: A Requiem in Four Acts," the 2006 HBO documentary directed by Spike Lee. Today, Blanchard performs live from his new CD "A Tale of God's Will (A Requiem for Katrina)."
Other performances include the Chiara Quartet, Hi Fi Sky, The National, Singer-songwriter Fionn Regan, Andy Palacio and the Garifuna collective, jazz pianist Jean-Michel Pilc, Brazz Tree, Martin and Medeski, Uncle Earl, and Great Lake Swimmers.
