Meshell Ndegeocello
Thursday, October 11, 2007
Meshell Ndegeocello has been called everything from "avant garde" to "a dying breed." The iconoclast's new album, "The World Has Made Me the Man of My Dreams," features her smoky vocals on a set of songs that ranges from funky soul to jazz-oriented pop-folk. She joins us to play live in the studio.

Actually, it's back to just Meshell Ndegeocello now. No capitalization, apostrophes or é anymore. So what time will she be playing in the studio? :)
Also, it's meshell.com, Not meshell.net. Meshell.net is a spam website... :)
Thanks Matthew!
I heard something about Hiro and this saturday?? is there a show could you please let me know. Thanks you!
Alex, you might call the Hiro directly as it seems Ticketmaster is no longer selling tickets for that show.
You should be getting some additional hits now that the show's been linked to directly from freemyheart.com and her official MySpace page. Thank you :)
Hi Matthew. Yep, that's how I found the link. As usual, thanks for the good word, bro. 8`)
Meshell you continue to stretch the limits of music and the limits of my mind. "A dying breed", impossible, there has never been another like Meshell 'cause who else can do what Meshell does but Meshell. Meshell is leading not following. Meshell is a Gatekeeper of the African Diaspora and as such is a deep thinker and a revolutionary spirit. Meshell, please continue to teach and stretch limits. I am humbled by what you do. Thank you

Tickets for Meshell's upcoming show, Saturday October 13th, are no longer for sale. They were only available online. The event will be held at The Hiro Ballroom, inside The Maritime Hotel. The Maritime Hotel does not have a box office. I called after I purchased my ticket.

I have been blown a away by this woman from the very beginning. Always in heavy rotation. I saw her on Saturday at the Hiro Ballroom and she laid it down like only she can. For those who missed her, shame on ya! Much love to you Meshell. Thanks for this interview. Wonderful!
I don't remember the name of your album that had "Jesus Healed the Blindman" on it. I heard it on a friend's CD but since then he has lost it.
I would appreciate you sending me the album name as well as where can I find one to purchase.
Keep up the wonderful work!! Thanks.
Bill. The track you're referring to is "The Way" and it's on her critically acclaimed 1996 album "Peace Beyond Passion."
Let me say this in Venda
Ndo ni tovhelela asi zwino, ndo imela u ni vhona ni khou pembela namani. Nyimbo dzanu dzi ntutuwedza hu si na tshinwe tshine tsha nga kona, thsifhinga ndi tshone fhedzi tshi ne tsha do vhona uri ufunana hashu ho do fhela ngafhi. Ndo livhuwa.

Artist. my series of works are the spirit and words of this great recording artists.
When one listens to Meshell's music you have to turn it way up, close your eyes, and listen to every note and every word. That's the only way I listen to it. When she sings you feel what she feels deep down and you smile whenever a song ends and you can't help but push that "repeat" button. I have every last one of her CD's and they are all my favorite but the song "Beautiful" from her "Bitter" album especially gets to me because my husband played that song at our wedding. ;-)
