Solo Furry Animal
Gruff Rhys is best known as a member of Super Furry Animals, the ultra-fun Welsh pop outfit that pumped out catchy songs and weird videos starting in the 1990s. Rhys joins us to talk about "Candylion," his second solo release and first sung in English. And, he performs live in our studio. (Gruff Rhys appears at Hiro Ballroom in Manhattan tonight and at Union Hall in Brooklyn tomorrow.)

Surprising how different times are from 1948 to 1968 as mentioned in the first song you played than from 1968 to now. Seems there are clearly fewer differences today as I, at 51, continue to enjoy new music and culture.
My mistake. Comment above intended for discussion of "Hair" previously.
Thank you for letting me air my views today on your show.
I respect Hair for what it did, but felt compelled to call in, especially after that Alphabet Song.
BTW. I know all about LBJ & LSD. I just didn't dig the form. Hearing that song cracked me up. It was a period piece, but I didn't dig how it was depicted. It was too 'Broadway', really.
There are some real classics from this show. There is no denying that, but I just think the Rock Musical is a bad idea. I don't like Rent either.
Your show rocks! I listen everyday. I applaud you for giving new artists a chance.
