Clive Davis

Wednesday, July 25, 2007

The career of Clive Davis took off 40 years this summer when he attended the Monterey Pop Festival. He's been the head of CBS and then Arista Records, and now is the chairman and CEO of BMG Music U.S., where he heads a recording empire that includes some 170 artists. We speak with Davis from his offices in Midtown.

Gee Ask the old gent (I almost said geezer)

if he thinks the tactics of the RIAA suing single mothers, and 13 year old girls are appropriate and will invite othe consumers to continuing them?

I love Loundon Wrainright, and many of his stars.

However I will NOT be buying any other records UNTIL the RIAA stops these illegal lawsuits

    "Your old road is

    Rapidly agin'.

Please get out of the new one

If you can't lend your hand

For the times they are a-changin'."

    Bob Dylan

Time for no more payola, no more computerized playlists, no more RIAA anti-consumer tactics, no more manufactured singers/bands, etc. etc.

The old game is over. Real artists and audiences reject the major label racket.

Funny how there was no mention or questions about Kelly Clarkson until after the interview. My guess is this was prearranged.

It's ironic that you played "Miss Independent" at the end. Clive and RCA hated that song and Kelly had to fight to get it on the album. They wanted to release "Some Kind Of Miracle" penned by "professional" songwriter Dianne Warren. According to fan polls, SKOM ranked at the bottom of fan favorites list and was never released as a single. Read this interview:

It's also ironic that Clive wanted to bring in outside writers on Kelly's new album. Kelly tied for ASCAP "Song of the Year" in April for the song "Because of You"....a song she had written when she was 16.

It seems that GRANDPAZ are everywhere in this corrupted MEDIA industry & dictating their worn out tacts to the music lovers. You can see that in the world of politics as well. GRANDPAZ are everywhere but I am hopeful to see the last of the GRANDPAZ thanks to the Internet (Please knock on the wood!!!). Wake UP music lovers: BEWARE OF THE ROYAL GRANDPAZ SCAM. You are hearing IT, you are wearing IT, you are eating IT, you are drinking IT & all that when people of "the rest of the world" are working their ass off in order for you to work your ass off to make the GRANDPAZ become richer & richer everyday while YOU & ME are dying a little everyday!!! WAKE UP!

    Cheers.

    Hamid.
