Tuesday, July 10, 2007

The film "The Hottest State," which arrives in theaters later this summer, draws on the diverse talents of New York singer-songwriter Jesse Harris. Harris collaborated with the film's writer/director/co-star Ethan Hawke, hand-picking a diverse range of artists including Willie Nelson, Feist, Bright Eyes, Emmylou Harris, The Black Keys, M. Ward to perform the songs. He talks about the soundtrack and performs live in the studio.

    I'm very excited to hear Jesse on the show. His new album is his best yet. He's playing at Joe's Pub in New York on July 11. I wish i could be there.

    On the show at least he sounds very Paul Simon'ish to me - I dig it.

    What a good player and writer.

    I love these new songs. And The Hottest State sounds like a cool record.

    brandaggio;

    U r absolutely right.

    Jesse Harris is

    Paul SimonISH & that is a good thing which makes me to 100% buy his CDzz... & the other good thing of being Paul SimonISH is that there is always a great story waiting for the listener. I dig Jesse Harris & I thank JS for introducing his music through his wonderful SOUNDCHECK show.

    Cheers.

    Hamid.
