Billy Martin and John Medeski (of Medeski Martin and Wood) met in 1989 and first played together in Billy's Brooklyn loft. That two-hour session led to the formation of Medeski Martin and Wood. Now they've released "Mago,' their first duet collaboration, which they share with us today.

I have nearly all their albums. I was hooked to MMW through their fantastic album COMBUSTICATION. I remember looking for this coined word in the dictionary for a week. Then I realized that these guys are PLAYERzzz & they can "play" WITH everything...be it words or musical notes...
Their music will last forever & it must be puzzled over for centuries to come. They are now making music for children. I can't wait to lay my hands-ears on this one!
I dig whatever it is that these geniuses do!
Thanks JOHN SCHAEFER for your wonderful program as usual.
Cheers.
Hamid.
