Darlene Love (www.darlenelove.com)Rock's Most Influential Tastemakers?
Blogs and music download websites are increasingly breaking artists and introducing musical styles to mainstream audiences. Today, a look at the new gatekeepers of music, and whether they're supplanting traditional music magazines in defining taste. We're joined by Ryan Schreiber, editor of Pitchfork Media and Kelefa Sanneh, pop music of the New York Times. Also: Darlene Love made her mark singing vocals on some of the biggest hits of the '60s including "He's a Rebel" and "Da Doo Ron Ron," and working with such legends as Sam Cooke, Dionne Warwick, and Elvis Presley. Currently, she's performing in the musical "Hairspray" and continues to do an annual Christmas show capped by the song "Christmas, Baby Please Come Home." She joins us with a preview.
