Leila JosefowiczA Prodigy Comes of Age
Leila Josefowicz is former child prodigy, picking up the violin at age 3, playing before Ronald Regan at age 10 and making her Carnegie Hall debut at 16, but she didn't stop there. Today she's an active soloist with major orchestras and is known for her fiery stage presence. She joins us with a live performance. Also: The use of music to heal mental health is at least as old as Plato and Pythagoras. But it wasn't until recently that the scientific establishment began taking it seriously. Today, a look at the current thinking on music therapy. And, the popular file-sharing service Grokster abruptly shut down yesterday to settle a landmark piracy case brought by the recording industry and Hollywood studios. We'll hear that news and find out what it means for the future of the digital download.
