    Guess Who's Coming to Dinner?

Lyricist Marshall Barer (1923-1998) is described by the singer B.J. Ward as "brilliant, bipolar, bisexual and bi-coastal." He's the author of a diverse range of material, from televison show theme songs to the lyrics of the musical "Once Upon a Mattress." Today on Soundcheck, B.J. Ward and pianist Michael Feinstein talk about Barer's legacy and Ward will perform his songs live in the studio. And, eating to the beat. We'll look restaurants around New York that give diners a chance to hear live music along with their meals, everything from jazz over jamabalaya to cabaret and crabcakes. We'll take your calls on the best and the worst combinations of music and food.
