    Roman Holiday

The American Academy of Rome has long been known as an overseas center for independent study and advanced research. It’s also the place where Samuel Barber wrote his celebrated “Adagio for Strings.” For the American violinist Robert McDuffie, it’s the perfect location for a music festival, and next week, he presides there over the first installment of the Rome Chamber Music Festival. McDuffie joins us today to discuss the challenges of starting a festival in the Eternal City.
