    No Generation Gap

"Tracks" is a new rock magazine that aims to attract a more culturally sophisticated, over-30 readership - a rarity in an age of Britneyfication of pop-music coverage. Its editor in chief, Alan Light, joins us today to shed light on this seemingly risky endeavor. Also, Hector Berlioz was among the most radical composers of the 19th century, but performances today often treat his music with a kind of hushed reverence. A concert this week at Joe's Pub attempts to show why Berlioz was a pretty edgy figure in his day, featuring such unlikely participants as the Brooklyn Saxophone Quartet and the Kamikaze Ground Crew. The show's producer, Limor Tomer, joins us. Finally, Frank J. Oteri of the American Music Center discusses the life and work of venerable American composer George Crumb.
