    The Tiger Lilies

    Trick or Treat?

Halloween could hardly be more frightening than if spent in the company of the Tiger Lillies, who join us today on Soundcheck. The London-based band features lead singer and accordionist Martyn Jacques, who sings odes to the dispossessed and deranged in an eerie falsetto. The two other members accompany with an upright bass, drums, and a hodgepodge of odd instruments and noisemakers. Jacques talks with John Schaefer about their album based on the macabre writings of Edward Gorey. Continuing with the utterly creepy theme, singer-songwriter Lee Feldman joins us to discuss, and present portions of “Greene,” a “Dream Noir Musical for Radio.” The production features music and lyrics with direction by Russell M. Kaplan, who also joins us.
