  • Traveling from the Contemporary to the Traditional

The Kronos Quartet has helped to bring attention to the music of some of the most innovative contemporary composers. Today on Soundcheck, we will be joined by the Kronos’ violinist David Harrington to talk about the quartet’s 30th anniversary. Harrington will also discuss their work on a benefit organized by actor Richard Gere and composer Philip Glass called Healing The Divide: A Concert for Peace and Reconciliation. Later, we’ll speak with members of My Lord Chamberlain’s Consort, a group of early music performers brought together to perform the music of composer John Dowland and other music of the Elizabethan repertoire.
