Is This a Hit I See Before Me?

Salvatore Sciarrino, who's written nearly 150 articles about music and is widely considered one of Europe's most original contemporary composers, visits Soundcheck today. Sciarrino returns to Lincoln Center Festival with his own surprising version of Shakespeare's tragedy Macbeth. Joining him is Joel Sachs, founder and conductor of the New Juilliard Ensemble that is presenting “The Chamber Music of Salvatore Sciarrino” as part of the Lincoln Center Festival. In addition, John Seabrook stops by to discuss: What role will record companies play in the future? Can the record business survive? We hear what the staff writer for The New Yorker has to say in regards to his latest article regarding money and the music industry today on Soundcheck.
