    Fighting "The (Music) Man"

Flexible and inclusive, those are just a few words to describe the members of Sequenza. Comprised of piano, violin, and cello, the group previews their upcoming performances at Bargemusic with host John Schaefer and offer us a sample of their inspired music-making. Also on the show is Kyle Gann, composer, musicologist, and music critic. The innovative ways composers have been able to resist commercialization is the topic of discussion for this well-rounded, intense man.

Additional Resources

Starting Thursday, June 5, each member of Sequenza will perform a solo recital at Bargemusic, the former coffee barge turned into floating concert hall in the shadow of the Brooklyn Bridge. Pianist Yael Weiss begins on Thursday, then Mark Kaplan takes the stage on Friday, followed by cellist Colin Carr on Saturday. The trio regroups on Sunday for a final performance.
