    Not Just Another Evening

A triumvirate of talent stops by on Soundcheck today, veteran choreographer Bill T. Jones, sultry singer Cassandra Wilson and up-and-coming composer and violinist Daniel Bernard Roumain. The artists are collaborating on a project called "Another Evening," featuring the Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company, at Aaron Davis Hall beginning May 30. Also, composer Daron Hagen visits to tell us about his new opera "Vera of Las Vegas," and we’ll hear a bit of it by singer Patricia Dell.

Sound Off

Soundcheck

Throughout May, Soundcheck presents “Sound Off” a Friday series on the many aspects of noise in music and our lives. The series -- which coincides with “Better Hearing and Speech Month” -- looks at issues like New York’s noisiest neighborhoods, the latest research on iPods and hearing loss, and what happens when noise becomes a musical ingredient.
