Although his Symphonie fantastique is widely considered a masterpiece of the romance period and he was one of the leading musical scholars and critics of his day, Hector Berlioz is still relatively unknown. Today’s guest, acclaimed music scholar Fred Plotkin, is going to champion the work of the French composer. We will talk about the life and times of Berlioz and how his music is approached today.
