  • Philip Glass and Daniel Bernard Roumain

    Glass As Guru

Besides blasting through the boundaries of classical music, composer Philip Glass has also been an advocate for some of New York’s most talented (and oftentimes, little-known) young composers. He shares his most memorable achievements and influences, as well as the challenges of the music-composition business, including the seemingly inevitable life of obscurity and poverty. Plus, Glass and Host John Schaefer take listener phone calls on the topic of young composers and songwriters.

Philip Glass, the foremost contemporary classical composer, has created award-winning music for a variety of productions ranging from musical theater and film, to concertos and operas incorporating Eastern musical elements.
