  • Beata Moon

The Music Mentor and Divine Dante

Working with people of all ages and backgrounds as a teaching artist at the Lincoln Center Institute, pianist-composer Beata Moon has espoused the philosophy that making music (not just listening to it) offers another way of looking at life. She’ll be in the studio to discuss her latest educational endeavor, a music show on New York public television. Plus, composers Eleanor Cory and Constance Cooper and writer-producer John Chodes stop by for a preview of Dante's Cantos: From Hell to Paradise, which features new chamber and vocal music based on The Divine Comedy.

Among Beata Moon’s commissions are Moonpaths for clarinet, violin, and piano, and Dolphins & Antelopes for solo piano, electric violin, vibraphone, and percussion, from the modern dance group SENSEDANCE.
