  • Great music in the parks

Soundcheck celebrates great music in the parks! Tune in for Dave Brubeck and David Sanchez (photo) and Vincent La Selva.

John speaks with cool jazz great Dave Brubeck, who’ll be sharing the bill with the rising Latin jazz star David Sanchez at Central Park Summerstage. And maestro Vincent La Selva is the featured conductor of this year's Puccini in the Park performances. He'll talk about the composer's rarely-performed first opera, Le Villi; Puccini's first character-driven work, Manon Lescaut; and what is arguably the composer's most famous masterpiece, Tosca. Plus, a performance in our studio by the Pacifica Quartet.
