    Let's Get Physical

Intertwining the medical sciences and the arts, Christopher Janney, creator of HeartBeat, joins John in the Soundcheck studio today. Employing modified medical technology and his own custom audio technology, Janney allows a performer to dance to the sound of his or her own heartbeat, beating in “real time”. He discusses this unique creation with John and the upcoming, landmark performance. Also, members of the American Composers Alliance drop by to tell us about their upcoming celebration of the music of the influential composer Roger Sessions. To wrap up this week’s big news about the New York Philharmonic’s move to Carnegie Hall, we talk to Lincoln Center’s Artistic Director Jane Moss, and our own Sara Fishko offers a thought about the merger.
