Steve the whistler

Stretching Out the Original Instrument

Monday, May 12, 2003

Two masters of the mouth join us today. World Champion whistler Steve Herbst will offer some Lecuona and Mozart, and we hear beatbox master Kenny Muhammed, a.k.a. "the Human Orchestra," currently involved in a project with choreographer Rennie Harris. Muhammed and Harris drop by to talk about the upcoming "Facing Mekka." To round things out, a bit of Brooklyn bluegrass as James Reams pays a visit to talk about his Barnstormers.
