American Music, Near and Far

Thursday, March 06, 2003

Since 1983, Prism has brought new American music to the public through concert series, recordings and premiere of important new works. Their president, composer Roger Zahab and pianist Eric Moe will be in the studio to discuss the Prism’s recent work and to perform some of Mr. Zahab’s new pieces. While Prism has help keep American music alive in the U.S., French clarinetist Louis Sclavis (pictured) has helped in Europe to expand America’s homegrown music, jazz. He is in New York for the Sounds French Festival and will come in to tell us all about the jazz scene abroad.
