Don’t call it klezmer! The all-female vocal quartet Divahn performs songs
that blend grooves from all types of Middle Eastern music with Hebrew, Judeo-Spanish,
Persian and Aramaic lyrics. They’re also anthropologists and ethnomusicologists,
so expect to hear the full story of this fascinating music. We also welcome music
writer Danny Felsenfeld, who will talk about what composers are doing to relate
to their audiences.
