Gig Alert: Nat Baldwin

Wednesday, October 13, 2010

Nat Baldwin
“Lifted”
Playing at: Zebulon
(258 Wythe Ave., Williamsburg)
Get: Tickets (Free)| Directions

As the bassist for Brooklyn art-folk superstars The Dirty Projectors, Nat Baldwin has plenty of experience transforming experimental, progressive musical ideas into sweet sounding pop music. Baldwin applies the same concept to his solo work as well. “Lifted” is a simple, pretty song featuring his cooing voice, bowed double bass, a sprinkling of fluttery synthesizers, and various insane and beautiful sound effects of unknown origin.
