Singer-songwriter Randy Newman has been adding to the American songbook for decades. Now he’s adding to his own official songbook, too. Today: Randy joins us for the hour to talk about his life's work and to perform songs from his latest release, The Randy Newman Songbook Vol. 2.

In Studio: Randy Newman

Singer-songwriter Randy Newman's 40-plus year career has been filled with lyrical commentating on America’s brightest—and bleakest—moments. He recently chronicled a sampling of his life's work on the second volume of “The Randy Newman Songbook.” Randy joins us live in the studio to talk about and perform songs from his latest release, which features stripped-down piano and vocal arrangements of songs spanning the past four decades.
