It’s June – so it must be wedding season! Today: Guest host Elliott Forrest asks a DJ and an event planner to break down the do’s and don’ts of a wedding playlist – from the first dance…to dessert. And: jazz-guitarist Bill Frisell and Brazilian singer-songwriter Vinicius Cantuária perform live in the studio.

The Wedding Playlist

With wedding season underway, we look at a crucial task facing brides and grooms: the playlist. We talk with wedding planner Karen Bussen and Colleen Crumbcake, owner of Pop Shop DJs (which bills itself as a “cheese-free” mobile DJ service) about the dos and don’ts of wedding music.

In Studio: Bill Frisell and Vinicius Cantuária

Jazz-guitarist Bill Frisell and Brazilian singer-songwriter Vinicius Cantuária have crossed paths many times in their musical careers. The two have played together for over 20 years, but their new album, called "Lagrimas Mexicanas" - which combines Frisell’s improvisatory style of playing and Cantuária’s Bossa Nova grooves, is their first full-on collaboration. They join us to talk about the record and play live in the studio. Check out the video below of their live performance of "Calle 7."
