In Studio: Rickie Lee Jones

Friday, July 08, 2011

Three decades after she first turned heads, singer-songwriter Rickie Lee Jones is still one of the most distinctive voices in music. She’s celebrating this milestone with the release of a new concert film called “Live in Stockholm.” The Duchess of Coolsville herself joins us in studio for a look back – and a live performance.

Guests:

Rickie Lee Jones

Yes, but she meant to say Anita O'Day.

Whatever CL, Where's the last place you "Heard" yourself? besides the shower! What do you do? I'm sure I can turn "On" the Radio and still Not know. Anyone that has a clue about good music knows how wonderfully brilliant Rickie Lee Jones is and has been for way more years you've been happy.

Impossibly bad! I'm turning off the radio. Can't she hear herself? Is that off-pitch voicing supposed to be hip or jazzy? To my ears, it's just plain self-conscious and extremely annoying. Sounds like a drunk or neurologically damaged singer. Too bad. I used to be a big fan.

Did I hear Rickie Lee say that the singer Anita Baker is dead?
