In Studio: Tom Morello
Tom Morello, the Grammy-winning guitarist from the band Rage Against The Machine, is also a singer, songwriter, and now, a comic book author. His new series is set in the type of dystopian near-future that his songs often warn us about. He’ll play live in the studio.
Gainsbourg: King of Provocation
The work of French singer-songwriter Serge Gainsbourg is notoriously difficult to categorize. His musical career, which spanned the late fifties until his death in 1991, veered from chamber pop to prog rock to reggae. He is perhaps most widely known for the racy 1969 duet with Jane Birkin, "Je T'aime... Moi Non Plus" – which was banned by the BBC.
Musician Sean Lennon and Gainsbourg biographer Sylvie Simmons join us for a look at the French King of Provocation - who is now getting the biopic treatment. “Serge Gainsbourg: A Heroic Life” opens this week at Film Forum.
