In Studio: Rene Lopez

Wednesday, August 24, 2011

The New York songwriter and bandleader Rene Lopez grew up with his feet in two worlds. His father was a founding member of Latin group Tipica 73 - but Lopez also gravitated to the urban pop of his youth. So, on his new full-length for Nat Geo, he decided to bring club beats to Boogaloo. It’s called “E.L.S.” or – Electric Latin Soul. Lopez will join us in studio to explain his signature sound – and play live.
