Today: Kyle Herring of the Johnson Space Center joins us to talk about the contests and NASA's use of wake-up music, which dates back to the Apollo program.

Good morning Good morning
Oh What a beautiful Morning
Good Morning Starshine
kick out the jams
wake me up b efore you go go
"Chelsea Morning" by Joni Mitchell
"Sweet in the Morning" - Bobby McFerrin
"Paralyzed" by Lonesome Stardust Cowboy. Worst record I ever heard, and it's too generous to call it music, but it'll definitely wake you up. Is it true that NASA used it once, and then banned it?
The Beatles- A Day in the Life
"I Phantom" by Mr. Lif always gives me a jolt in the morning.
From time to time my clock radio would wake me with the Allman Brothers' "Blue Sky". A beautiful, sweet song, guaranteed to start any day with a smile.
I've always been curious about NASA's choice of wake-up music.
Anyway, "Wake Up Everybody" by Harold Melvin and the Bluenotes would be a cool choice.
"Beat the Clock" by Sparks
For most of my four amazing years at college, I'd wake up to Out on the Tiles by Led Zeppelin- it definitely set the right tone for the rest of the day.
