Yundi

Wednesday, May 19, 2010

Success came early to pianist Yundi Li . At age 18, he won first prize at the Chopin Competition in Warsaw, Poland, and the following year launched a spate of recordings for the prestigious Deutsche Grammophon label. He now goes by simply Yundi. With his pop idol looks, he's a household name in China. He joins us to share music from his new all-Chopin recording – his debut on EMI – and to perform live in our studio.

Yundi's recording of Chopin Nocturnes is the Full Rotation: Album of the Week on WQXR.
