Karl Jenkins

Friday, March 05, 2010

A recent European survey of the most successful living composers turned up a clear winner – Karl Jenkins. He is a Welsh composer from a rock background who wrote that ultra-familiar music for the De Beers diamond commercials a few years back. He has a new piece for an unexpected solo instrument coming to NY tomorrow, and he joins us today.

I am a low brass player who plays Euphonium when asked. It has been my secondary instrument since my high school years(trombone the primary). I doubled on both during my undergraduate years at the Hartt School of Music. too bad its reputation is similar to distant cousin.
