Punch Brothers Live
Wednesday, June 23, 2010
Mandolin player Chris Thile was just eight years old when he started playing in the popular acoustic trio Nickel Creek and rose to fame in the bluegrass world. A few years ago, he formed Punch Brothers, which adds folk and classical music to his bluegrass sound.
Punch Brothers join us to play songs from their latest album, Antifogmatic.

So what is up with all the banjos ? (or new groups usings all sorts of other old timey musical instruments ) ? It seems to be the new thing for quite a while. Punch Brothers, Avett Brothers, Rev Paytons Big Damn Band, Orpheum Bell, Hayseed Dixie, etc etc. You guys should an expose on all this Banjo mania. Keep on Pluck'n
I'm a huge Punch Bros. fan, but sadly will not be able to attend the concert in Brooklyn tonight. I'd love to hear them perform one of the tunes from the instrumental bonus disc. I'm enjoying those as much as the main album, if not more!
