God I want this in my mp3 player... I live and breathe Jónsi right now
Absolutely beautiful music. I listen to hiphop and rap 90% of the time and Jonsi (and Sigur Ros for that matter) have changed how I listen to music.
Edy , from Buenos Aires , Argentina
This music shocked my soul , I can feel the spirit of this extremely talented musician flowing through every note , every chord ,every inflexion of his voice , and feel a strong communication with him , beyond different roots and culture .Surely , he can touch the esence of spiritual things.Saludos , Gabriela.
Jonsi (and seemingly whomever he works with) is the most incredible musician alive bringing more emotion than music can even bear. I could listen for days to the albums and have honestly listened to them hundreds of time and they never get old.
May he continue to make music for a long long time, and I just know his music will be immortalized in the way Mozart and others have. He has transcended music in way that only a select few in our history have ever achieved. I really really hope he knows how important what he does is to so many of us all.
Some have considered his music depressing, but I find that it is entirely the opposite-- extremely hopeful and enlightening.
Thanks to any station, website, blog that shares his work with others-- it is really a good deed to do so.
This guy has changed my outlook on music. Completely. From country music to Jonsi & Alex.
Yeap. Life changing.
Takk... Jonsi!

There are few artists whose work draws such a deep response from the heart as Jonsi does. It sounds like one who has been able to maintain the sense of seeing and wonder that we possess as children but regrettably often lose. Thanks for reminding me of what is essential, Jonsi (or at least, one of the things!)
Thank you so much soundcheck.
Jónsi's music, as always, belies words.
His music, both with Sigur Ros and with Alex, has been absolutely inspirational and life-changing for me, and his solo album looks set to reach the same level of pure magic.
How can I ever express my respect and gratitude?!
Hey Soundcheck listeners! Just an explanation to follow up on the above. When John starts talking over the end of a song during an in-studio performance, it's because we've run out of time on the show (which airs live.) We try to avoid it whenever possible, but sometimes the show runs a bit longer than expected. Moreover, thanks for listening!
Absolutely incredible, the most amazing singer /artist in the world in my opinion. Rarely do i have goosebumps from the first lyric to the final note, unless im listening to Jonsi. Its like music from another world, just so captivating and mesmerising....theres not enough words to describe how special the music he does with sigur ros/solo/alex is. Ridiculous amounts of Love for this, that piano is so perfect. I'll stop rambling now as i am speechless in awe.
Jonsi of Sigur Ros is a very kind person and he makes incredible music. www.lombardia.be is very proud to be his raw vegan chef when he is in Belgium. Here a very nice video of Jonsi in the Raw kitchen. http://www.youtube.com/user/LombardiaAntwerpen#p/f/6/Fm9qGIzKFN8
I miss New York!
Wait.. whaa... ENGLISH???? No WAY! Still, gotta love it, what a brilliant individual. The music has changed my life.
I understand that people are mad about Schaffer coming in at the end but if it wasn't for this interview I might have missed out on some beautiful live music. Not might have I would have, along with many others Soundcheck does such a great job bringing new artists to the public. (Granted I own a bunch of Sigur Ros albums, I didn't know about this solo one.)
I completely grateful for this so thank you, on top of the beautiful music, I was having a bad Thursday and this made my Thursday better.
I think what is so jarring is that Jonsi really is singing so beautiful and the song was so melodic I was almost hypnotized and I needed to be eased back.
Thanks WNYC!
Really enjoyed the show. Beautiful songs. Jonsi is a great artist. But god, I hate radio show hosts like Mr. Schaefer, who interrupts a song, before it it's over.
Have you no respect for music and artsits, Mr. Scahefer?
Music that inspires, gives power..
þakka þér kærlega fyrir!
Mr. Schaefer is 1 of how many who've given fans this first and for this length of time? Be appreciative.
pt
Mr. Schaefer, you were incredibly rude by interrupting Jonsi at the end of his last song. Such a beautiful song up to that point.
Mr.Schaefer, interrupting that last song was unbelievably rude. You sound like you are a tool and know nothing about music either. Can't wait for this album. Jonsi is the definition of an artist.
I can't even put into words the respect I have for Jonsi. There is an earnest sincerity in everything he produces. It doesn't feel like he makes music to soothe the masses or fill some marketable void. Instead his music always feels uniquely divorced from hype. It's like he writes and sings just to free is own creative soul and we are merely privileged enough to be allowed to listen.
Jonsi is legitimately one of the most brilliant artists, and I use that word selectively and deliberately, of his time.
The acoustic versions of Go Do and Boy Lilikoi are so beautiful (:
I uploaded individual songs here on my blog, if anyone wants to download them:

Jónsi Birgisson, the best voice in the world ..
nooooooo! not english!!!! noooooooo!!! (but i love him so! )
I agree with S thesbin comment, about the song "Around Us", is it possible to get it in it's entirely?
Go Do acoustic is awesome, and so is Boy Lilikoi.
Many thank for these beautiful moments :)
Agree with comments above. This man is so talented.
Accidentally bumped into him in a bar in London last weekend, what a nice guy.
Bring on the new album. Fingers crossed a date in Ireland soon.
Mr. Schaefer, your interruption at the end of "Around Us" was extremely ill-timed.
If you could take the trouble to maybe upload the song in it's entirety it would be very much appreciated.
The song is absolutely beautiful.
You should ask him why he decided to use his actual name instead of his former solo name - Frakkur.
I agree, GORGEOUS. I'm ordering the album right now.
wow, the more I hear of the new album, the more eager I am to listen to the whole thing. Sounds wonderful!
LOVE! I am going to pre-purchase on Amazon STAT.
Gorgeous!
Thanks so much for featuring Jonsi on your show! Sigur Ros is far and away my favorite band of all time, and I am EAGERLY anticipating the release of Go!
Also, I hope he tours either Atlanta or Charlotte later this year. Those are the closest to me.
Everything this man does is perfect.
Eagerly awaiting debut in Seattle. Jonsi is a beauitful artist and his music (along with Alex and Sigur Ros) has forever changed the way I hear music.
I am tuned in online and waiting impatiently to hear Jónsi; I discovered his solo tune Boy Lilikoi recently and have been loving it. Looking forward to the release of the album. Thank you so much for including him on your show; I love his singing voice and hearing him perform today will be the highlight of my week!
