Meta and the Cornerstones

The six members of the the Brooklyn-based group Meta and the Cornerstones fuse Afro-pop, hip-hop, rock and soul. The band's Senegalese-born leader, Meta Dia, sings in English, French, Wolof and Fulani. He and the group join us to play songs from their debut album, Forward Music.

اما بعد
فقد نهي النبي صلي الله عليه وسلم.عن ان يحقر المرء اخاه المسلم بكل ما هو عيب و مشين لان هذا من الخلق الزميم فهو حرام ودال علي إعجاب المرء بنفسه وعسي ان يكون المسخور منه خير من الساخر.واذكر هنا قصه ابو ذرالغفاري مع بلال بن رباح رضي الله عنهما حينما قال ابو ذر لبلال يا بن السوداء,فقال النبي صلي الله عليه وسلم لابو ذر انت (امرء فيك جاهليه.(او كما قال عليه الصلاة والسلام
والناس لادم وآدم من تراب .و لا فضل لعربي علي اعجمي إلا بالتقوي

They should be selling CD's at shows. If not, you can pick one up at www.cdbaby.com. They're going into the studio to record a second CD in the next couple of months.

I've been to Meta and Cornerstone's concerts several times in New York City. I must say every one of concerts were amazing.

Their lyrics are easy but compelling, rhythms are catchy but also very original and meta's voice is soft but very strong.

I hope they focus more on selling CDs too! I've been trying to talk to members to ask where i can buy CDs but they seemed not to care about selling CDs!

meta & the cornerstones is definitely one of the freshest reggae bands in new york right now... with their soulful and eclectic sound, they're sure to go far.

بدري شكراً حزيناً علي ثقافتك النيره بعض الشئ عن الفلاته أو الفولاني ... إن الفولاني يا عزيزي شعب عفيف ليس كما تزعم ،،،إن أمهاتنا لا يأكلن خارج بيوتهن وعفيفات أكثر مما تتصور، وامهاتنا لايعملن يا عزيزي لكي تعوهن للاكل مع والدتك ياعزيزي ، إن الذين تتحدث عنهم هم الهوسا أرجوك تجدد ثقافتك لكي تعرف الفرق بين الهوسا والفولاني ... والدتي رحم الله لاتخرج للزاء في القريه إذا لم تستئذن من والدي ناهيك أن تعمل ...أمهاتنا عزيزات ايها الرائع ،إنها البيت ترفع صوتها ناهيك أن تعمل تأكل خارج بيتها ..إن للفولاني سحنه جميلة ووسامه ليس لها نظير أضحك واحزن كثير علي ثقافتك التي تقول بأن الناس تقول عنهم ساحرين أختشي يارجل أرجو أن تتقف وتفرق بين الفولاني والهوسا... أعرفك بأن جدتي أعظم إمراه في المنطقة لها خلوه تدرس فيها القرآن...
