Microscopic Septet (Lars Klove/Cuneiform Records)
The jazz ensemble Microscopic Septet emerged from New York’s downtown scene in the 1980s. The group is offering up its take on a legendary composer and pianist on the new CD, “Friday The 13th: The Micros Play Monk.” The group performs live in our studio.
The Microscopic Septet perform at Birdland on Thursday, December 2, 2010 and at the Hotel Gershwin on Saturday December 11, 2010. For more information, please visit the Birdland web site and the band's Myspace page.

oh my god...they sound exactly like they did in the '80s. And not in a good way...ugh...
My favorite band. It'll be supreme to see them perform this week. And again next week.
