Missy Mazzoli is one of the leading lights of the indie-classical scene in New York. Her music has been performed by Kronos Quartet, eighth blackbird, the Minnesota Orchestra, NOW Ensemble and other groups. Her all-female electro-acoustic band Victoire is a mainstay of the city's alternative music spaces. And this week, the American Composers Orchestra is set to play a new version of "These Worlds in Us," her piece about her father's experiences as a soldier in Vietnam. She joins us along with Victoire to perform live.

It sounds like movie music w/out the movie. I turned the program off when the music started playing thinking it wasnt my thing, but as soon as I shut it off, I realized that I wanted to hear what would happen next!
and so I quickly turned it back on. Very nice. :)
