Yoko Ono
Thursday, September 24, 2009
The Plastic Ono Band was born in 1969 as a collaborative vehicle for John Lennon and Yoko Ono. It counted Eric Clapton, Keith Moon, two Beatles and Ornette Coleman as occasional members. Now, the 76-year-old Ono is re-launching the band with the help of her son, Sean Ono Lennon, and other young stars. Yoko Ono joins us to talk about the new album, Between My Head and the Sky.

what is wrong with people? yoko ono is a brave and brilliant artist and a lovely human being. i guess it's going to take a long time for america to catch up with her.
thank you for this show.
wow - can't believe the comments - I thought that the album was great! and I looove Yoko's voice! Brava!!
This is horrible? Almost laughable. This poop sounds exactly what it is, some rich lady who can afford a band and is making a musical. Makes the Ethel Merman Disco album sound like a tour de force. Come on Soundcheck you can do better and if you received this CD from an unknown, you would never give it any airtime.
These comments are more like an episode of smack down?
Great guest John.
Love you, Yoko!
Okay, it's after 2:30 and you're not done, I'm changing the station. Very very dull.
Does Ms. Ono know about the petition to allow music to be played at reasonable times in Strawberry Fields? What does she think of the "Quiet Zone" status that keeps music from being played there?
Words fail me.
Is fluxus still going? Does Yoko have any new films she is working on?
Dave
-- she should be a writer and producer. Her creativity - even if dated is much better then her voice which is awful.
-- Now that I hear the music it's even worse -- especially with her voice. You can hear better music and voices with the Frank Chickens band -- "Get Chickenized" from 1984.
-- Boring!!! I'm a baby boomer who loved the Beatles, but this is sooooooooooo 1969 and her band s--ked then.
-- PS -- Forty years in this country and still with the accent and little girl act - what's up with that???
Yuch! C'mon - that's not music AT ALL!
Having studied and enjoyed the Fuxus Art movement and Judson Arts, I've become a fan of Ms. Ono.
Some people look at her as the one who broke up the Beatles. But I look at the Beatles as the one who broke up an incredible artistic career.
Stories of everyone babysitting for her while she made art in the basement of Judson with Cut Piece and the bag for the Stone piece are terrific.
And for age... the woman is HOT!!!
Yoko Ono ans Sean Lennon—Now that's what I call music. Gag.
