Zap Mama

Thursday, May 28, 2009

Marie Daulne founded Zap Mama 15 years ago as a female a cappella group that drew on Congolese pygmy music. It morphed into a full band with Grammy nominations and a knack for genre-busting collaborations with hip-hop group The Roots, neo-soul singer Erykah Badu and others. Zap Mama joins us to play songs from the new album ReCreation.

I'm so glad.I cant wait the intoxicating vibe that runs through your body when you listen Zap Mama. She's undoubtfully a live-let-live nesoul legend high above the formulaic and boring muck that is being served up to us on the for- profit-radios;Hence why love WNYC....
